About Ducks For Kids With Diabetes: Ducks For Kids With Diabetes is a five-week cause marketing campaign launched December 31, 2006, by the Pacific Northwest Research Institute (PNRI, now PNDRI) in partnership with QFC and Ride the Ducks of Seattle. The campaign aims to generate funds needed for diabetes research and raise awareness of diabetes as a serious and often life-threatening disease. 100% of the dollars generated through point-of-sale donations made at checkout stands in all 77 QFC stores throughout Western Washington and the Portland, Oregon area will go directly toward advancing the research efforts of PNRI. QFC will generously match donations made to the campaign up to $10,000. QFC patrons who make a donation are eligible for a coupon redemption opportunity with Seattle's Ride the Ducks.
