Postdoctoral Fellow - Nadeau Lab
Pacific Northwest Research Institute (PNRI) is seeking a motivated postdoctoral scholar who is passionate about genetics and epigenetics research in cancer biology to work in the laboratory of Dr. Joseph Nadeau, an internationally recognized expert in genetics, genomics, and bioinformatics. Dr. Nadeau has been a pioneer in comparative genomics, genetics, and systems studies of mouse models of human disease as well as in transgenerational epigenetic effects on cancer, metabolism, embryogenesis, and behavior. His discoveries have changed the way that we understand inheritance of phenotypic variation and disease susceptibility.
We are looking for an individual with demonstrated research experience with ES cell culture, mouse genetics, genetic engineering methods including CRISPR, RNA and protein assays, and relevant bioinformatics and statistical procedures. We are especially interested in a candidate with a background in epigenetics and cancer biology. The candidate will work closely with Dr. Nadeau on testing the role of somatic and inherited mutations on pluripotency control and testicular cancer risk.
- A PhD or MD in a related field
- Commitment to interdisciplinary research
- Prior experience with scientific writing required
- Prior background in epigenetics and cancer biology
- Must enjoy working both independently as well as collaborative
PNDRI was founded on the conviction that research is the key to improving health for everyone. We believe that a better understanding of the interaction between the environment and genetics will lead to insights into the prevention of human diseases. This is why we are making significant investments in next generation genome sequencing, bioinformatics, and model organisms. We are located in Seattle’s First Hill Neighborhood, the home of several major health care facilities, including Swedish and Harborview Medical Centers.
