Research Project Specialist Opening in Dudley Lab

Pacific Northwest Research Institute (PNRI) is seeking a Research Project Specialist for the Dudley Lab who will focus on yeast genetics and genomics. We are seeking a candidate who can work as part of a multidisciplinary team of scientists and researchers.

You will focus on the use of high throughput next generation sequencing, including genomic DNA and RNA extraction, library preparation, RNA expression analysis, high density genotyping, PCR and qPCR, and whole genome sequencing using the Illumina and Oxford Nanopore platforms. The individual will work in a highly collaborative environment with both internal staff as well as with external collaborators.

The primary responsibilities include planning and executing scientific procedures and experiments under the guidance of the PI. Other responsibilities include scoping and developing a schedule for specific projects, facilitating equipment and resource purchasing, performing quality control, system monitoring, and data management.


  • Bachelor’s degree and higher specialized training in the biological sciences or equivalent experience and/or education.
  • Five or more years of experience in molecular biology.
  • Experience with high-throughput screening, automated liquid handing and assays in 96 well format.
