Senior Research Technician – Dudley Lab
September 1, 2021
The Dudley laboratory at the Pacific Northwest Research Institute (PNRI) seeks a motivated staff scientist who is passionate about genetics, microbiology, biological processes associated with fungal pathogenesis, and translating their discoveries into therapeutics to improve human health. The successful candidate will participate in several collaborative (multi-lab) projects focused on developing novel antifungal drugs that are effective against a wide array of highly drug resistant fungal pathogens. Candidates must have expertise in microbiology, including laboratory experience with BSL2 fungal pathogens, such as Candida albicans, or comparable experience with BSL2 bacteria.
Research in the Dudley laboratory focuses on a wide array of basic science questions and translations applications. The highly collaborative, interdisciplinary nature of our laboratory provides a strong training environment in the areas of classical and modern genetics, quantitative trait analysis, high throughput functional assays, synthetic biology, genomics, and yeast biology. The Dudley lab and the broader PNRI community also actively work to increase diversity in STEM, translate our discoveries in ways that benefit society, and train the next generation of scientists.
