Senior Research Project Specialist Opening in Dudley Lab

Pacific Northwest Research Institute (PNRI) is seeking a Senior Research Project Specialist for the Dudley Lab who will focus on yeast genetics and genomics. We are seeking a candidate who can work as part of a multidisciplinary team of scientists and researchers.
You will be part of a collaborative project aimed at constructing, genotyping, and assaying the phenotypes of large libraries of yeast strains. You will report directly to the Principal Investigator. You will provide general lab management, including maintaining lab stocks of common supplies and making media and common reagents. Experience with the following techniques is preferred: sterile technique, manipulation of yeast (preferably S. cerevisiae) or comparable microbes, manipulation of microbes in 96- or 384-well plate format, media preparation, and basic molecular biology (e.g. PCR, restriction digestion, DNA extraction, and gel electrophoresis).
The successful candidate will be able to work independently and carry out scientific techniques, procedures, and research related to research goals of the Principal Investigator.
- Bachelor’s degree in the biological sciences or equivalent experience and/or education
- Ten years or more of research experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Master’s degree in a scientific field (biology or chemistry) desired
